The Sky is Rye!

The Pennyroyal Frog is now known as Rye Sky + "I love the power glove, it's so bad"

I decided to dump the long pseudonym "Pennyroyal Frog" and opt for a much shorter, simpler one, "Rye Sky." I'm going to keep my one man band name as "The Pennyroyal Frogs" aka "PRF."

I've cleaned up a lot of the obsolete links I had on the right sidebar and updated a few things.

Besides all this, I've been discovering a lot of bands/music that I haven't listened to before. Some worth mentioning are:

(contemporary)
Sigur Ros - ambient, dream pop, post-rock
Deerhoof - indie
Deerhunter - shoegazing
Vivian Girls - indie, riot grrl, (cool vocal harmonies)
Liars - ???

(retro)
Wire - punk, post-punk
Magazine - post-punk
The Fall - post-punk
Buzzcocks - punk
The Wipers - punk
Polvo - indie
Slint - math rock
June of 44 - math rock
Rodan - math rock

You may be wondering how I haven't listened to some of these bands before (esp Buzzcocks), well, I work slowly.

And while speaking of indie rock, I was shocked to find out that Jenny Lewis, the lead singer of the indie band Rilo Kiley, was in the classic 1989 Nintendo promotional full-length feature film "The Wizard." My favorite scene from the movie (which also features Jenny Lewis):

Nice to see Nintendo's use of late 80s hip-hop argot to appeal to the young ones. I admittedly have used that ironic slang around that time.
